Luke Dunne – Percussion Tutor
Having studied under the guidance of Westport musician Anthony McNamee in the late 2000’s, the Castlebar native continued his passion for music studying drums at the BIMM Dublin institute from 2013 to 2017.
Luke has been playing drums for 15 years and currently teaches lessons within Music West priding himself on facilitating a strong platform of education and fun on the drumset.
In 2019, he was apart of The Mayo Concert Orchestra performing percussion for the Broadway theatrical Fainne Oir in New York City and has experience of playing with both the orchestra and concert band over the years alongside other musical artists and bands.
Luke has taken lessons and attended clinics with industry established drummers including Jimmy Chamberlin (Smashing Pumpkins) renowned drum educator Mike Johnston, session musician Ash Soan, alongside Irish drummers Rory Doyle (Hozier) Graham Hopkins (The Frames) Dave Hingerty (Kila) Johnny Boyle (Picture House) and Jay Oglseby (Andrew Strong)
It is the Mayo percussionist’s ultimate aim and mission statement to inspire the drummers of today and tomorrow from all walks of life and to cultivate a love and passion for music within the county in the name of rhythm.
