The Music West Music School runs affordable music lessons in our purpose built Music West building in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. We offer weekly weekday and evening lessons on a wide range of instruments along with Saturday tuition. All lessons are run strictly following HSE guidelines.

We facilitate musicians ranging from novice beginners (children and adult) to experienced players who wish to add to their knowledge. New students of all ages are welcome. It is never too late to pick up an instrument you have wanted to learn for many years.

Times and dates for lessons are dependant on individual tutors availability and cost 20 euros for a 30 minute lesson. Longer lessons are subject to arrangement with the individual music tutors. 

If you or your child is interested in learning an instrument, we currently provided lessons for brass, woodwind, strings, guitar, piano and keyboard as well as percussion. Our students can chose to undertake Music exams with the Royal Irish Academy and can perform at recitals at Music West.

Every September we organise an Open Day, where everyone can meet the music tutors, try out different musical instruments and choose what instrument to learn.

We also run an instrument store where students and playing members can rent instruments.
