The Music West building is a purpose built facility in Castlebar, Co. Mayo which is operated by a local voluntary community organisation, focused on education, participation and enjoyment of music and the performing arts in Mayo.  

Our building has been designed and furnished to facilitate large ensembles as well as smaller groups and one to one tuition. The ground floor facilities are mobility friendly and the building comes with car parking as well as a drop-off / pick-up point. 

The building or spaces within it are available to rent to any musical groups, teachers or anyone wishing to use a space for other community activities. 

Our rooms are regularly used for practice and rehearsal by a variety of Ensembles and Choirs as well as meetings and community activities. 

The accommodation includes a large rehearsal room which is acoustically correct and is furnished with piano, drumkit, multiple chairs and music stands. This space can be used for large ensembles and choirs as well as  community activities such as yoga or keep fit. 

A further nine other rooms are also available for activities such as teaching, meetings, ensembles and bands rehearsals. These rooms are furnished with desk and white boards, while the majority also include contain pianos or keyboards. Two of the teaching rooms are mobility friendly, being located on the ground floor. 

One of the teaching rooms is set up as a band room complete with drumkits. Other facilities available include kitchen and store room.
