Zane Kažotniece- Joyce – Violin & Pre-instrumental Tutor

Zane comes from Latvia and has lived in Mayo for more than 20 years. She studied classical violin and music theory in The Latvian State College of Music in Jelgava for 8 years. She has travelled and studied traditional music in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The interest in Irish traditional music brought her to Ireland. She has taken classes in Traditional Irish Music Summer schools. Zane has been a member of Cór MaighEo for over 20 years and has been a violinist with Mayo Concert orchestra for several years. She has also played violin in different music groups collaborating with classical, traditional, pop, rock, “jam bands.”

Zane has been teaching violin for 20 years. She works with children and adults of all ages and abilities.

Studying with Zane students can take exams with Royal Irish Academy of Music.
